There are two ways to say colors in Mandarin Chinese. First is to say the name of one color itself, and the second way is to say the name of one color plus "色(sè)", which means "color".
There are two ways to describe colors in Chinese.
Sometimes when it’s a color in-between two colors, or "mixed colors", for example, greenish blue or blueish green, we can put two colors together and say the following colors:
(Be careful that this doesn’t mean that we can randomly put two colors together to make a new one. Usually phrases to describe these "mixed colors" are already accepted by everyone. And that’s the whole reason we can say these colors in Chinese in the first place.)
