men 们 plural particle

们 is the Particle we use to express plural form in Chinese. It is pronounced in the Neutral Tone, and can be attached after a word that refers to people to indicate "more than one". It is mostly used after Personal Pronouns in Chinese. For example:

  • nǐmen
    你们
    you guys
  • wǒmen
    我们
    we; us

It can also be be used after some nouns that refers to people. For example:

  • lǎoshīmen
    老师们
    teachers
  • xuéshengmen
    学生们
    students
  • péngyoumen
    朋友们
    friends

It is rarely used after other nouns(eg. animals...) unless it is a rhetorical way to humanize them.

  • dà xióngmāomen

Contemporary English is so deficient when it comes to “you.” I understand why you had to say “you guys” or your guys’ LOL. We should adopt the Modern English format of “you.”
