In this video lesson we'll learn how to write Chinese characters xi, da, yi, fu, jian. And we'll also learn their Radicals and their constructions.
isn’t 月 moon/month? can you please explain and give examples of it being ‘flesh; meat’ radical?
月 means “the moon;month” as a character, but when used as a Radical, it means “flesh; body; meat”.
OMG radicals are so confusing.
Don’t worry! Some Radicals have a different meaning than when it’s used as an independent character. This is because as a Radical it usually carries its Original Meaning, but as a character, the meaning is usually a more commonly used meaning in modern time.
Probably 脑 (năo) which means “brain” – e. g. in computer 电脑 – can be a good example of the radical “ròu” being added.
