To ask for an address in Chinese, there are multiple ways.
The following two sentences are both okay to say:
栋 can be used as the measure word for 房子. There are other measure words that can also be used as the measure word for 房子, but each measure word suggests a slightly different meaning.
|yí ge fángzi||一个房子||universal measure word; no extra information|
|yí tào fángzi||一套房子||for a suite with all the necessary rooms: a living room, a kitchen, a bathroom and bedrooms|
|yí dòng fángzi||一栋房子||for a house of its own single building; most likely not an apartment, but a single-family house|
|yí jiān fángzi||一间房子||for a single-room space|
In apartment complex where there are more than one buildings, if we want to list Building 1, Building 2, Building 3 we can say
❖ The following two sentences are both correct:

|✓ 这栋楼一共有50层。||✗ 这栋楼一共有50楼。||how many floors/stories in total|
